Catholic Couple Claims They Were Blocked from Fostering Children over Their LGBTQ Beliefs thumbnail

A couple from Massachusetts is suing the Department of Children and Families (DCF) after they were reportedly blocked from fostering children due to their beliefs on gender, sexuality and marriage.

Devout Catholics Mike and Catherine “Kitty” Burke, represented by the religious liberty group Becket Law, claimed that the state denied their fostering application because they “would not be affirming to a child who identified as LGBTQIA.”

During an appearance on Fox News’s “The Story,” the Burkes said they plan to take the matter to court because they believe their rejection indicates that the state is refusing to allow religious applicants to foster children.

“We believe the reason we were rejected is because we were very vocal in the fact that we are practicing Catholics, very traditional Catholics, and we stand firm in the church’s beliefs on traditional marriage and sexuality. And that was pretty clear in their reasoning,” Kitty told host Martha MacCallum.
