While Biden Raises Taxes, DeSantis Drop $1 Billion Tax Credit on Florida thumbnail
In this episode of “Biden Being Biden, DeSantis Being DeSantis”…

The inept occupant of the Oval Office kills one major oil pipeline and talks about killing another one while driving up inflation and gas prices with it. The governor of Florida suspends the state’s gas tax, providing $1 billion in relief to drivers feeling the pain at the pump. Biden being Biden, DeSantis being DeSantis.

Speaking to reporters at a gas station in Daytona Beach on Monday, DeSantis decried “inflationary policies out of Washington” for driving up consumer prices in general and in particular, gas — ahead of the holidays.

“The price of a Thanksgiving dinner is up over 20 percent just over last year. I think what’s most dramatic, because it affects most people in their daily lives, is gas prices going up.

“We think this is a huge problem for working families in Florida. Really it hits everybody, but it particularly hits blue-collar people, people on fixed income.”

DeSantis said the state could and would provide immediate relief for Floridians by suspending the gas tax, as reported by The Blaze, until prices come back down — which will happen precisely at half-past Biden.

“The average family over a five or six month period, you know, could save up to $200. There’s a whole bunch of things that go into the price of gas.

“There’s different taxes, federal, state, local level, we’re taking over 25 cents from Florida and we will basically zero that out for as long as we can and do over a billion dollars. That’s going to make a huge, huge deal.”

When writing about the Florida governor I’m often struck by how with it this guy is — how much he understands and how quickly he gets after fixing stuff — as contrasted with Biden. In other words, where Ron DeSantis drips chief executive, Joe Biden wreaks pretender to the throne.

Speaking of the pretender in chief, Biden last week blamed — Biden always blames — “anti-consumer behavior” — by the oil companies for rising gas prices, and called on the Federal Trade Commission to investigate the possibility of oil company collusion (my, Democrats love that word, don’t they?) driving up the price at the pump, Daily Wire reported. In a letter to the FTC, Biden nonsensically said, in part:

“[Gasoline] prices at the pump remain high, even though oil and gas companies’ costs are declining. The Federal Trade Commission has authority to consider whether illegal conduct is costing families at the pump. I believe you should do so immediately. “

Here’s my favorite part:

“I do not accept hard-working Americans paying more for gas because of anti-competitive or otherwise potentially illegal conduct.

“I therefore ask that the Commission further examine what is happening with oil and gas markets, and that you bring all of the Commission’s tools to bear if you uncover any wrongdoing.”

How can I put this tactfully? What a complete crock of crap.

Of course, Biden not only accepts hard-working Americans paying more at the pump; he loves hard-working Americans paying more at the pump. They all do. “Fossil fuels, bad. Green energy, good.”

Meanwhile, Joe Biden will keep being Joe Biden.

And Ron DeSantis will keep being Ron DeSantis.

Now, to get the former out of the Oval Office and the latter in it.
