Manny Margot tried to steal home in the World Series and almost pulled it off

This World Series has already been a lot of fun but on Sunday night it almost got absolutely insane, because Tampa’s Manny Margot tried to steal home. In the WORLD SERIES.

That’s just not something anybody ever seems to try on the sport’s biggest stage, but there was the beautiful and gutsy Margot deciding to make a break for it in the bottom of the fourth inning in Game 5.

There was only one problem – he didn’t make it as he was rightly called out by the home plate ump.

But man, it was a close call. Like. really close.

Check this out and also notice how smart Clayton Kershaw was to not balk and get the ball home in time:

For anyone saying Manny Margot was safe … he wasn’t. But he was an inch or so away.

All inning long, he had been feinting toward home on Kershaw’s pick-offs to first. Margot got a very good jump, too. Appreciate the gumption, but every out in this game is precious. pic.twitter.com/vbPYOg9MKH

I mean, come on. That is so awesome. Risky, sure. But great.

Thought it would have been better if it worked.
