Late word on Monday evening is that 125 Wisconsin National Guardsmen have deployed in Kenosha tonight.

Last night the Mayor declared a curfew, ordering everyone to be off the streets by 8:00 pm local time. The curfew was ignored by several thousand people who continued the protests and rioting that began on Sunday following a police shooting of a Jacob Blake during a domestic violence call after Blake attempted to enter his vehicle contrary to the commands being given to him by the officers.  According to the Associated Press, the 19 second video of the incident was captured by 22 year old Raysean White, who told reporters that just prior to hearing the police fire, he heard them yell at Blake “Drop the knife”, “Drop the knife”.

Just to show you that irresponsible public commentary is not limited to the moronic Democrat Politicians in Minnesota and Oregon, Democrat Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers issued the following comment in the aftermath of the shooting:

“Tonight, Jacob Blake was shot in the back multiple times, in broad daylight, in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Kathy and I join his family, friends, and neighbors in hoping earnestly that he will not succumb to his injuries. While we do not have all of the details yet, what we know for certain is that he is not the first Black man or person to have been shot or injured or mercilessly killed at the hands of individuals in law enforcement in our state or our country.

We stand with all those who have and continue to demand justice, equity, and accountability for Black lives in our country—lives like those of George Floyd, of Breonna Taylor, Tony Robinson, Dontre Hamilton, Ernest Lacy, and Sylville Smith. And we stand against excessive use of force and immediate escalation when engaging with Black Wisconsinites.

Informed later a about report of Raysean White claiming he heard the police yell “Drop the knife” before firing, Gov. Evers sought to help matters out by noting that he had seen no information to suggest that Blake had a knife or any other weapon when the police chose to open fire.

Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes doubled down on that sentiment, essentially calling the shooting a targeted attempt to murder Jacob Blake “in broad daylight.”

“This wasn’t bad police work, this felt like some sort of vendetta being taken out on a member of our community.”

Karissa Lewis, national field director of Movement for Black Lives, a coalition of more than 150 Black-led organizations that make up the broader Black Lives Matter movement, said the shooting was yet another example of why activists have called for defunding police departments.

“There’s no amount of training or reform that can teach a police officer that it’s wrong to shoot a Black man in the back seven times while his children watch,” Lewis said in a statement first shared with the AP.

As noted by my colleague Alex Parker noted earlier, reputed BLM “spokesman” Shaun King called for more violence in Kenosha on Twitter, apparently not in violation of Jack’s notoriously malleable site rules:

Nah.

I’m not going to call for peace.

We’ve tried peace.

For years.

Y’all don’t understand that language.

We are calling for a complete dismantling of American policing.

It’s NOT broken.

It was built to work this way.

And mayhem is the consequence.

You earned it.

— Shaun King (@shaunking) August 24, 2020

So, there has been no shortage of “cheerleaders” from the Democrats and left-wing nuts for more violence tonight — heck, if they’re lucky they might even come out of it with a couple of cops getting shot.

Trouble did not take long to continue on Monday night as protesters remained on the street after a curfew that was set by the mayor, and police employed tear gas to try to disperse the crowd.

The situation degraded as a large BLM protest group showed up at the Kenosha County Courthouse. Rioters in the crowd started to throw projectiles at the officers, who responded with tear gas. pic.twitter.com/KvVwm3GA6N

And now this problem has emerged — protesters in the street with firearms.  Wisconsin is an “open carry” state, where residents can lawfully carry loaded firearms without the need for a permit.  Carrying a “concealed” firearm requires a permit.  This is the only gentleman I have seen so far in a video carrying a weapon, but he’s certainly going to draw attention from law enforcement and the National Guard by virtue of his decision.

This is supposedly a photograph of heavily armed militia who are out with the protesters, promising to protect them from police.

But now it looks like the truly horrible is happening — and this will get people killed.
