Listen, here’s a thought exercise: do you, a healthy 27-year-old, go to Miami to celebrate your birthday during the pandemic? Do you get a little sweaty and shout over music from the bottom of your diaphragm and play a game of rocks-glass roulette with your friends? It’s a tough call!
Tiffany Trump chose Miami. She said yes to Miami on Sunday, specifically the dining room at DJ Khaled favorite Komodo and later Kiki on the River, according to Page Six. She said yes to celebrating herself. One’s 27th only comes once in a lifetime after all. As Tiffany herself wrote on Instagram, “‘Do what is right, not what is easy nor what is popular.’ — [self-help author] Roy T. Bennett”:
And sometimes it’s just right, it’s just correct, it’s the noble thing to do to celebrate one’s 27th in Miami. What is it that Lisa Love said? “She’s gonna always be known as the girl who didn’t go to Paris.” Love was talking about Lauren Conrad, sure, but just sub in Miami for Paris and you’ve got yourself a raison d’être for any travel, pandemic or non.
On Monday, she and boyfriend Michael Boulos went to dinner at Papi Steak, and she was served cake that had three tiers. On each, there were photos of her. In one of them, the middle one, she was with her father, the president of the United States. He is standing next to her, arms slack at his side, as if he’d already taken a lot of photos by that point and was all out of handshakes or thumbs up.
