The following items were taken from Libertyville, Mundelein and Vernon Hills police reports and releases. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt.

Criminal Damage to Property

A report of damage to a stop sign, electrical box and utility shed was reported on July 13 in the area of Rockland Road and Dawes Avenue. Similar damage was located on July 16 on park property in Butler Lake Park, which is also similar to damage found on July 27 in Adler Park, police said.

Leaving Scene of Motor Vehicle Accident

Valeriya Barybina, 23, of the 1200 block of Andover Lane in Mundelein, was arrested for leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident on July 18 after police responded to an accident. After a search, Barybina was found in Mundelein and arrested after being positively identified. She was released on a $2,500 personal recognizance bond with a court date of 9 a.m. on Sept. 9 in Mundelein, police said.

John Homan, 28, of the 1400 block of E. Course Drive in Riverwoods, Ill., was arrested July 20 for driving under the influence, illegal transportation of liquor, no insurance and improper parking on a roadway after police responded to a complaint of someone parked on a roadway and slumped over the steering wheel. Homan was released on a $1,000 recognizance bond along with the posting of his driver’s license. He has a court date at 9 a.m. on Aug. 28 in Waukegan, police said.

Edward Leisten, 66, of the 700 block of Spruce Tree Drive in Cary, Ill., was arrested July 20 for driving under the influence after being involved in a traffic accident. Leisten was released on a $1,000 recognizance bond along with the posting of his driver’s license. He has a court date at 9 a.m. on Aug. 20 in Waukegan, police said.

Jacob Schneider, 25, of the 900 block of Concord Circle in Mundelein, was arrested July 23 for driving under the influence, along with failure to yield to the right of way, and resisting a peace officer. He was released on a $1,000 recognizance bond along with the posting of his driver’s license. He has a court date at 9 a.m. on Aug. 21 in Waukegan, police said.

Daniel Medina, 30, of the 8600 block of Carey Avenue, was arrested July 21 for driving under the influence and speeding. Medina was released on a $3,000 recognizance bond and has a court date on Sept. 2 in Waukegan, police said.

Turdell Hopkins-Bey, 29, of the 1400 block of N. Maywood Dr., was arrested July 25 for retail theft after he left a store without pay for $1,598 worth of merchandise. He was released on a $5,000 cash bond and has a court date on Aug. 11 in Waukegan, police said.
